The West Virginia University College of Education and Human Services (WVU CEHS) offers a variety of academic programs designed to prepare you for a career in which you can positively impact lives and brighten futures, in local communities and beyond. Whether you’d like to work in an educational, a clinical and/or a research setting, we offer the foundational education and service experiences that will help you excel in your efforts. The college offers opportunities for students to work alongside expert faculty in state-of-the-art laboratories, clinics, centers and schools, to allow for guided professional training and research and the chance to make a real difference. The college consists of five academic departments. The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD), Department of Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling and Counseling Psychology (CRCCP), Department of Curriculum and Instruction/Literacy Studies (CILS), Department of Learning Sciences and Human Development (LSHD) and the Department of Special Education all call CEHS their home. Together, they work to provide innovative academic programs and opportunities to our students.

The College of Applied Human Sciences is comprised of three schools: the School of Counseling and Well-Being, the School of Education and the School of Sport Sciences. Each school is committed to academic excellence, a supportive environment focused on student success and pioneering research. The schools combine to create academic programs that are highly relevant in today’s environment that emphasizes personal quality of life.
