Our hospital follows the guidelines established by the American Association of Feline Practitioners for Cat Friendly practices.

Wellness & Prevention

Physical Examinations:

Kittens require 2-4 examinations depending on their age at first exam. Frequent examinations at an early age ensures that your kitten is meeting all expected milestones.

Adult cats (1-7 years) require an annual examination.

Senior/Geriatric cats (8+ years) should have two exams a year. In some cases quarterly wellness exams may be recommended.

Vaccinations:

Rabies: A necessary vaccination for all cats and kittens over 12-weeks of age. All cats must be legally vaccinated against rabies.

DRCC: A necessary vaccination for all cats and kittens beginning as early as six-weeks old. This vaccination provides protection against feline herpes virus (FHV), feline calicivirus, chlamydia, and panleukopenia.

FeLV: This vaccination protects against feline leukemia virus and is recommended for all kittens and at-risk adult cats. At-risk cats are those that spend any time outside or are housed with an FeLV-positive cat.

Feline Veterinary Care of Morgantown was established in December 2018. We are a partner practice with Cheat Lake Animal Hospital, which is a long-standing small animal, exotic practice and emergency clinic in the Cheat Lake area of Morgantown. FVC was established to provide a practice environment designed and tailored specifically for cats.
